Working at Siemens EDA

A short account of my internship on the Virtual Ethernet team.

I spent two months interning at Siemens EDA, on the Virtual Ethernet team within Hardware Assisted Verification.

I built a visualization library for interactive diagrams at 50k+ node scale, representing hardware verification pipelines. The frontend used Web Workers to keep the UI responsive during heavy layout and validation, and I designed a real-time sync protocol between a C++ backend and React frontend so state changes didn’t feel stuck.

I also built bottleneck detection on live performance metrics to detect and show slow parts of a workflow while it’s running.

Jigsaw Puzzle at Siemens DISW Office.

Short internship, but it taught me a lot about the relationship between visualization, distributed state, and performance-sensitive tooling. It also taught me a lot about working on a team, communicating clearly, and what corporate life actually looks like, my first time experiencing it firsthand.

I also wrote about a race condition I ran into on this project.
