On Uni

I grew up messing with computers: taking them apart, breaking them, fixing them, swapping parts, and learning every piece. I got my first real PC later and worked at a PC repair shop for fun. My “salary” was free DDR3 RAM sticks.

From there I moved into software: some basic Visual Basic, some JavaScript for the web, and eventually a decision to go all in on a CS major. I ended up studying Computer Engineering at Ain Shams University, the best opportunity available to me at the time, with a dual degree from the University of East London.

I studied math, physics, discrete math, logic design, data structures, algorithms, databases, operating systems, compilers, networking, embedded systems, machine learning, distributed computing, and more across four years. I chose distributed systems as my focus, since it’s what I love and what I’m most interested in.
